Overview

Turing is seeking a Head of Frontier Data to lead the strategy and execution for frontier-grade data that powers advanced AI systems. You'll engage with leading LLM labs and build a team of STEM experts. This role requires strong leadership and strategic vision.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in leading data-driven initiatives, particularly in the AI or STEM domains. Your experience includes engaging with top-tier research labs and understanding the nuances of data quality and generation. You are adept at building and managing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Your expertise in defining data quality rubrics and driving data generation operations sets you apart. You understand the importance of diverse and high-quality data in advancing AI systems and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field.

You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies is key to your success in this role.

Desirable

Experience in AI research or a related field is a plus. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and their applications in STEM will enhance your candidacy. A background in project management and operations will also be beneficial as you drive initiatives within the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the strategy and execution for frontier-grade data that powers cutting-edge AI systems. You will engage with leading LLM labs to advance their capabilities across STEM domains, ensuring that Turing remains at the forefront of data methods and technologies.

You will be responsible for building and leading a team of strategic experts who will generate AGI-advancing data in STEM. Your leadership will guide the organization in defining what constitutes good STEM data, focusing on aspects such as data diversity and quality metrics.

You will drive data generation operations through effective project management, ensuring that the team meets its goals and delivers high-quality data packs and tooling that measurably improve model performance. Your role will involve continuous engagement with both internal teams and external partners to foster collaboration and innovation.
