Formlabs is hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design and develop embedded systems and firmware. You'll work with technologies like C, C++, and Arduino in Boston. This position requires a strong grasp of embedded software development and electronics fundamentals.
You have a background in electrical engineering or software engineering with a solid understanding of electronics fundamentals — your experience includes designing circuits, sensors, and electromechanical systems. You are passionate about embedded systems and have hands-on experience developing embedded firmware for real-time control of hardware. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to take on new challenges while contributing to impactful projects. You are detail-oriented and enjoy debugging hardware and software interactions, ensuring that your code runs smoothly on the devices you create.
You are a proactive learner who seeks to understand the bigger picture of your work — you appreciate the importance of building strong relationships with your teammates and cross-functional partners. You are comfortable owning projects from research and specification through prototyping, validation, and production release. In this role, you will design and develop embedded systems and firmware that power Formlabs' innovative 3D printing solutions. You will be responsible for researching and specifying new features, prototyping new designs, and validating your work through rigorous testing. You will debug the hardware your code runs on, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. As you grow in this position, you may have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities to include hardware design, allowing you to take ownership of both the software and hardware aspects of your projects.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and teams to ensure that your designs meet the needs of our customers and align with our product vision. You will participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and brainstorm solutions to challenges. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our 3D printing technology, helping to drive innovation across various industries.
At Formlabs, we offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $115,000 USD, along with equity in the form of RSUs.
