SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist for their 2nd shift team to provide technical EHS support in launch vehicle manufacturing. This role requires a background in safety inspections and emergency response planning.
You have a Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma with 4+ years of experience in environmental health and safety. You are skilled in executing industrial hygiene studies and analyzing manufacturing byproducts against human health thresholds. You have experience calibrating and servicing EHS instrumentation and performing safety inspections to mitigate risks. You are knowledgeable in creating lockout/tagout procedures for complex work cells and industrial machinery. You understand the importance of designing and deploying high-resolution EHS signage throughout various locations. You are adept at qualifying PPE requirements through in-depth hazard analysis and reviewing consensus agency standards such as NIOSH and ANSI. You are proactive in monitoring safety equipment supplies to ensure they are readily available for use.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the SpaceX Environmental Health & Safety team, providing essential technical support to various launch vehicle manufacturing teams. You will actively participate in emergency response planning, ensuring that all protocols are in place for any potential incidents. You will execute industrial hygiene studies, analyzing the byproducts of manufacturing processes to ensure they meet health standards. Your responsibilities will include calibrating and servicing a wide array of EHS instrumentation, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly and safely. You will conduct safety inspections, identifying deficiencies and addressing them to mitigate risks effectively. Additionally, you will create and implement lockout/tagout procedures for complex work cells and industrial machinery, ensuring that all safety measures are adhered to. You will also design and deploy high-resolution EHS signage throughout SpaceX locations, enhancing safety awareness among employees. Your role will involve qualifying PPE requirements through thorough hazard analysis and reviewing relevant standards. You will monitor safety equipment strongholds, ensuring that necessary supplies are always available for employees.
