Who you are

You have a PhD in Machine Learning or a related discipline, bringing deep expertise in Computer Vision, Generative AI, and multi-modal AI. Your experience includes published research in these fields, showcasing your ability to convert academic insights into practical applications. You are skilled in managing multi-phase projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration and impactful AI applications.

You possess a solid understanding of LLMs, RAG, and PEFT, and are familiar with multi-modal applications such as Captioning and VQA. Your knowledge extends to the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its use in structured agent communication, task orchestration, and context management across multi-agent systems. You thrive in environments that challenge your technical skills and allow you to contribute to meaningful advancements in AI.

What you'll do

As a Senior Research Scientist at Clarifai, you will lead applied research initiatives, transforming cutting-edge academic insights into production-ready solutions. You will collaborate closely with MLOps, Engineering, Business Development, and Product teams to rapidly prototype and deliver innovative capabilities, particularly within the national security domain. Your role will involve driving strategic advancements that enhance customer success and contribute to the overall mission of the company.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing experiments that validate your research findings, ensuring that they align with the practical needs of the organization. Your work will include developing algorithms and models that leverage the latest advancements in AI, contributing to the development of tools that empower organizations to extract actionable insights from unstructured data.

You will also mentor junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team. Your insights will help shape the direction of future projects, as you work to bridge the gap between theoretical research and real-world applications.
