Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime for AWS data centers.
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the importance of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and are eager to contribute to a team that ensures seamless operations. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical systems, such as three-phase electrical systems, UPSs, and generators, will be invaluable in this role. You are detail-oriented and committed to achieving high standards of uptime, knowing that your work directly impacts global digital experiences.
You possess a basic understanding of data center operations and the various systems that support them — from cooling systems like centrifugal chillers and cooling towers to power systems including switch gear and PDUs. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers. You thrive in collaborative settings and are ready to engage with a diverse team of professionals.
Experience with AWS infrastructure or similar cloud services would be a plus, as would familiarity with data center operations. As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers — your primary responsibility will be to ensure the operational integrity of mission-critical facilities. You will conduct regular inspections and maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including diesel generators, cooling systems, and power distribution units.
