Lindblad Expeditions is hiring a Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of baked goods and desserts for guests onboard their expedition ships. This role requires strong baking skills and the ability to manage daily production while ensuring food safety standards.
You are an experienced Pastry Chef with a strong background in baking and pastry arts. You have a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality desserts and baked goods that enhance the guest dining experience. Your time management skills are excellent, allowing you to efficiently handle the demands of a busy galley environment. You are comfortable working in a team-driven setting and are committed to maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety. You understand the importance of accommodating dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-sensitive options, ensuring that all guests can enjoy your creations.
You have experience working in a dynamic kitchen environment, preferably on a cruise ship or in a similar setting. Your ability to collaborate closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff is a key asset, as you contribute to the overall success of the galley operations. You are adaptable and willing to assist with various tasks beyond baking, including inventory management and cleaning duties. Your passion for culinary arts drives you to continuously improve your skills and stay updated on industry trends.
As a Pastry Chef at Lindblad Expeditions, you will be responsible for preparing a wide range of baked goods and desserts served onboard. This includes freshly baked breads, pastries, plated desserts, and special occasion items. You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily production schedules and ensure that all items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Your role will also involve assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
In addition to your primary focus on baking, you will contribute to broader galley operations, which may include cleaning, provisioning, and occasionally supporting crew meals or dishwashing. You will play a vital role in shaping the guest dining experience, ensuring that every dessert and baked good meets the expectations of our guests. Your commitment to food safety and sanitation will be paramount, as you adhere to all health regulations and guidelines.
