SpaceX is hiring a Starship Build Engineer to develop tooling and processes for the production of the Starship rocket. You'll focus on integrating avionics, propulsion, and structural assemblies. This role requires expertise in engineering disciplines and relevant technical skills.
You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical or electrical disciplines, with experience in systems-level engineering. You are skilled in designing and implementing tooling solutions that enhance production quality and efficiency. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++, which you have applied in real-world engineering projects. You are familiar with AutoCAD and other design tools that aid in the creation of manufacturing requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with design engineers and technicians to achieve production goals. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of reliability and manufacturability in engineering design. You are eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of aerospace technology.
As a Starship Build Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing production requirements and developing tooling and processes that enable efficient assembly of the Starship rocket. You will operate as a systems-level engineer, planning and executing the build, integration, and validation of flight hardware to meet stringent requirements. Your role will involve designing and implementing tooling solutions that eliminate assembly errors and improve overall quality. You will automate processes to ensure repeatability on a large-scale production line, proving that subsystem work centers meet cycle time requirements. Additionally, you will become a subject matter expert for various vehicle-level systems, including aero control surfaces and propulsion systems, generating and maintaining design for manufacturing requirements throughout the production process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence vehicle architecture and ensure that all components are designed for reliability and manufacturability.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to advancing human space exploration. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional growth.
