Google is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to assist in the system definition and integration of quantum computing hardware platforms. You'll work with various technologies and collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure system performance. This role requires 5+ years of experience in hardware system integration.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience. With 5 years of experience in hardware system integration, you have a strong background in hardware systems engineering, integration, and testing. You are skilled in integrating multiple custom technologies into a functioning system and have experience troubleshooting complex electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems. A Master's degree or PhD in a related field is preferred, along with experience building and operating quantum computing systems.
You possess the ability to translate technical objectives into component functional and performance requirements. Your strong communication skills enable you to work effectively with technical leads and collaborate with other hardware and software teams. You are comfortable with travel as needed and are eager to contribute to the development of innovative quantum computing solutions.
Experience with quantum computing systems is a plus, as is a background in optics, sensors, or audio/DSP technologies. You have a keen interest in cutting-edge technology and a desire to push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of quantum AI.
As a Systems Integration Engineer at Google, you will assist in defining system requirements and driving the integration of quantum computing hardware platforms along the QAI roadmap. You will collaborate with technical leads to establish hardware configurations that meet project requirements and work closely with software teams to ensure that the necessary tools are in place for system operation. Your focus will be on executing the integration of systems to meet their performance requirements.
You will provide technical oversight of the design, development, and integration of system components, ensuring that all elements work together to deliver a fully functional quantum computing platform. Your role will involve translating system objectives into traceable component requirements and documenting system configurations and integration processes.
You will also support the development of system integration plans, complete with metrics for tracking progress transparently. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that the integration process is smooth and that the final product meets the high standards expected at Google.
