Job Description

Amazon Silk Browser and Webview is web connectivity engine on Amazon's Fire tablets, Fire TVs, and Echo Show devices for how customers experience web content on Amazon devices. We are looking for a principal product manager to grow Silk and Amazon Webview far above and beyond our current scope. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing Silk's business, including Silk's existing strategic partnerships and building new strategic partnerships with companies across the globe. The successful candidate will be hands on with design and engineering to ensure we build and operate client and server-side software to support Amazon's massive scale. The ideal candidate will be a superb functional practitioner, demonstrating/modeling bar-raising product management practices, helping to elevate the overall discipline across the team.

Key job responsibilities
Drive overall business strategy and growth for Silk Browser and Webview platforms
- Identify and pursue new marketplace opportunities and revenue streams
- Develop and execute roadmaps for product expansion

Partnership Management
- Lead and grow strategic partnerships with global technology companies
- Manage existing partner relationships and identify new partnership opportunities
- Negotiate and structure partnership agreements to drive mutual value

Product Development Leadership
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to develop client and server-side solutions
- Define product requirements and specifications
- Ensure scalability of solutions to support Amazon's large user base
- Drive technical architecture decisions with engineering teams

Team Leadership & Best Practices
- Establish and maintain high standards for product management practices
- Foster collaboration between product, engineering, and design teams
- Model excellence in product management and user research methodologies

Customer & Marketplace Focus
- Gather and analyze customer / developer feedback and marketplace insights
- Define and track key performance metrics
- Ensure product decisions are data-driven and customer-centric (both end-users and developers)

Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with business development teams to understand marketplace needs
- Work closely with UX designers and researchers to create intuitive user experiences and validate
- Coordinate with engineering teams on technical implementation
- Engage with stakeholders across Amazon's device organization with clear written and oral communication

Innovation & Technical Vision
- Drive innovation in web browsing and content delivery
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Identify opportunities for technical advancement and platform evolution

Operational Excellence
- Ensure reliable and scalable operation of services
- Manage product lifecycle and release processes
- Drive continuous improvement in product quality and performance

About the team
We operate like a startup in a big company - our engineers work closely with product management and user experience designers to build best-in-class services and apps and our product management and leadership teams work closely with business development to get feedback from partners and customers in order to grow the business. We are building our organization based on smart people, diversity, and individuals with a “can-do” attitude that want to build apps and services used daily by millions of customers worldwide.- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
- 6+ years of technical product or program management experience- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Knowledge of SQL
- Chromium experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
