Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Structural Engineer for the Starship Structural Test team to design and analyze large steel and concrete structures. You'll work on innovative testing solutions and collaborate closely with vehicle and test engineers. This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 2 years of experience in the engineering of composite steel and concrete structural systems. Your background includes a strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles, particularly in the context of large-scale projects. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership in technical discussions and project execution. You have experience with fabrication planning and on-site support, ensuring that your designs are not only theoretical but also practical and executable. Your attention to detail and ability to consider boundary conditions and load paths make you an ideal candidate for this role. You are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of engineering and technology.

What you'll do

As a Structural Engineer on the Starship Structural Test team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures that will be subjected to flight-like loads. You will collaborate with vehicle and test engineers to develop test structures from conception to execution, ensuring that your designs integrate seamlessly with the rocket structure. Your role will involve performing detailed design and analysis, as well as overseeing the fabrication of these structures. You will be challenged to create unique, fast-to-build, and cost-effective solutions that meet the rigorous demands of aerospace testing. You will also be involved in on-site fabrication support, ensuring that the structures you design are built to specification and can withstand the extreme conditions they will face during testing. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering. We offer a collaborative work environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of space exploration. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and be part of a mission that is fundamentally changing the way humanity interacts with space. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within the company.
