Job Description

Amazon Dash Cart is transforming the way people shop for Groceries by eliminating checkout lines—simply place items in the cart, and it does the rest. As you exit through the designated Dash lane in a Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh store, your payment is automatically processed, and a receipt is sent to your Amazon account, making grocery shopping faster and more convenient than ever.

Built by a team of dedicated Amazonians, Dash Cart harnesses advanced technologies like computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning to create a seamless, intuitive experience. We are passionate about innovation and continually push the boundaries to enhance the shopping journey, making it smarter, simpler, and more efficient.

The Role:
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team in building highly visible, robust automation tools and framework to tackle complex and hard to solve problems.

As a hands-on SDET, you will make a large impact on our dynamic, fast moving Amazon Dash Cart team by improving efficiency and approach to testing. Working backwards from customer needs, you will identify the right sets of tools to build to achieve the best quality and customer experience. You will lead test automation efforts for critical and complex technical projects spanning multiple software and hardware teams and merchants. You will be responsible for driving improvements in test tools, test environments and reporting mechanisms as well as influence the implementation of the right solutions.

As a Software Development champion on the engineering team, you will own the vision for test infrastructures, build frameworks that allow developers to easily write reliable tests, and invent new mechanisms for ensuring that every change we make can be deployed safely and quickly. You will help solve our most difficult challenges, and you will coach other engineers to foster a culture of relentless high-standards.

The ideal candidate for this role has a strong track record and proficiency in building efficient and innovative test tools. They are a pragmatic problem-solver with high judgment who brings an experienced perspective to balance quality and strategy trade-offs to meet the needs of Amazon Dash Cart teams, projects, and products. They will bring clarity to complexity, probing assumptions, illuminating pitfalls with data, and fostering shared understanding. They have specialized knowledge analyzing test procedures, inspecting architectures and developing test infrastructure and tools that provide confidence in product quality.

- Lead and actively participate in design review, test planning and tools reviews, aligning teams across organization towards coherent test tool strategy.
- Lead effort towards simplifying test tools and technologies in terms of efficiency, effectiveness stability, extensibility, and scalability.
- Demonstrated ability to own, design, lead and implement test strategies for complex applications and deployment topologies.
