Google is seeking a Senior Network Implementation Engineer to lead the deployment and maintenance of private data networks. You'll work with optical network infrastructure and scripting languages like Python. This role requires 6+ years of experience in telecommunications.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. With 6 years of experience in telecommunications, you've worked extensively with optical network infrastructure and transmission systems. Your expertise includes layer 2/3 routers and data services, particularly in edge metro capacity delivery. You have a proven track record of leading planning and execution of network deployments, owning the creation and refinement of Deployment Packages and Methods of Procedure. Your ability to travel up to 25% of the time is a plus, and you are proficient in scripting languages such as Python, applied to network automation and data analysis.
As a Senior Network Implementation Engineer, you will be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. Your role will involve facilitating faster, better, and more efficient outcomes for the business and our customers. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship during deployment, ensuring meticulous records and establishing best practices. Defining metrics, measuring performance, and driving continuous process improvements will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You will lead risk assessment and mitigation by partnering with project management and engineering teams to proactively identify and resolve potential issues in network design and installation.
