Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to work on storage technology within the Google Cloud Platform. You'll develop solutions for cloud infrastructure and analyze metrics for storage products. This role requires experience in C, C++, Python, and Go.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using C or C++, or 1 year with an advanced degree. Your background includes experience in Python or Go, as well as scripting languages like Shell. You are familiar with enterprise server or storage systems, including BIOS, BMC, TCG, SSD, and SATA/SAS. You have a solid understanding of computing, reliability engineering, software-defined systems, and hardware acceleration. Your experience extends to large-scale and fleet management of servers and components, and you are knowledgeable in developer operations, release management, integration testing, and open source development.
A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, along with experience in Open Compute Projects (OCP). You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile.
As a Software Engineer III at Google, you will be responsible for evaluating and ensuring the reliability of storage components and systems. You will develop and implement solutions for collecting and analyzing metrics for storage products in the cloud infrastructure, providing insights that drive product improvements. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with internal and external partners to plan and execute engineering programs, including product development and productivity enhancements. You will contribute innovative ideas within your team, helping to shape the future of storage technology at Google Cloud Platform.
