Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for the Merlin Thrust Chamber Assemblies team. You'll develop manufacturing processes for critical engine hardware, utilizing skills in machining, welding, and more. This role requires expertise in propulsion technology and manufacturing processes.

Who you are

You have a background in manufacturing engineering with a focus on propulsion technology — your experience includes developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for complex hardware. You are knowledgeable in various manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding, and non-destructive testing, and you understand how these processes impact overall hardware performance. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable leading multi-disciplinary teams to solve manufacturing challenges. Your analytical skills allow you to assess recurring discrepancies and implement effective solutions. You are passionate about contributing to innovative projects that push the boundaries of aerospace technology.

Desirable

Experience with rocket engine manufacturing or aerospace components is a plus — you understand the unique challenges associated with high-stakes production environments. Familiarity with advanced mechanical assembly techniques will enhance your ability to contribute to the team.

What you'll do

As a Manufacturing Engineer at SpaceX, you will support the production of Falcon and Merlin engine sub-assemblies, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and effective. You will analyze manufacturing discrepancies and lead teams to identify root causes, implementing solutions that enhance hardware performance.
