Job Description

Operations Technology Solutions organization (OTS), with an unparalleled scope, is part of the Amazon’s WW Operations & Robotics team. We design, deploy and support IT infrastructure, devices and Services across Amazon’s Global Fulfillment Centers, Transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile & Logistics), and Specialty Customer Solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, and Prime Air).

Our customers range from Amazon lockers to Amazon’s Air Hubs. OTS team is looking for a driven Business Intelligence Analyst to power our data-driven decisions. You will turn complex data into actionable insights that drive our operational excellence.

We want a self-starter who tackles challenges head-on and delivers results fast. You will own our business analysis process, manage KPIs, and lead risk assessments that shape our strategic direction. Your ability to transform raw data into compelling stories will directly impact leadership decisions and team performance. Key job responsibilities
- Think quickly as an analyst: manage competing priorities while providing level-headed guidance on business metrics, even during unexpected events
- Collaborate with data source providers and technology teams, ensuring that key metrics decision data is accurate, automated and delivered in a timely fashion
- Apply your expertise in the collection, analysis and management of quantitative business metrics data to create meaningful written reports, drive business metrics discussions while recommending metrics improvements
- Lead the development of all weekly, monthly, quarterly metrics, alongside all operational planning, forecasting and reporting models to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
- Produce regular reports and analysis, write systems queries to gather data, and perform data-mining and analysis using tools including MS Excel, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos and MySQL to identify trends and develop forecasts
- Conduct root cause analysis to leverage extensive data to uncover underlying process or metric related issues, implement improvements or process changes, and aid the creation of new measures to bolster metrics culture
- Partner with operations/business teams to consult, develop and implement KPI's, automated reporting/process solutions, and process improvements to meet business needs
- 15% travel, domestic and international, dependent upon business need

At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience as business analyst, data analyst, or similar role
- 5+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience building and maintaining automated forecasting models, utilizing regression or statistical methodologies.- Master's degree, or MBA in business, strategy, operations
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented, you possess a strong business sense
- Demonstrable problem-solving ability, alongside previous analyst experience, particularly in root cause analysis, defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Previous analyst experience in the financial side of manufacturing, logistics or distribution center processes is a nice to have
- Excellent written and presentation skills when working with multiple peer groups and varying levels of seniority
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Tech skills: SQL, Python, Experience with working on Tableau, Quicksight, Terradata, Power BI, Qlik (Dashboarding tools)
- Problem solving, Data analysis, Data visualization, Statistical Analysis & Metric Design
- Demonstrable business and financial acumen, including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation
- Comfortable performing ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools
- Significant/relevant experience in similar business analyst positions
