Uber is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and develop generative AI systems for customer support. You'll leverage your expertise in machine learning and data analysis to enhance user satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience.
You have a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. With a minimum of 5 years in the industry, you have a strong focus on machine learning and optimization. Your experience includes working with machine learning packages and deploying models in real-world applications. You are skilled in data analysis and statistical analysis, enabling you to design and analyze experiments effectively. You have a collaborative mindset, enjoying brainstorming new solutions with cross-functional teams. Mentoring junior engineers is something you value, as you believe in fostering growth within your team.
Experience with generative AI algorithms and agentic AI design at scale is a plus. Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) for query understanding and response ranking will set you apart. You are comfortable with distillation techniques and have a keen interest in optimizing algorithms for better performance.
In this role, you will design, develop, and productionize machine learning solutions specifically for customer support engineering. Your focus will be on generative AI algorithms that enhance the customer support experience for millions of Uber Eats users. You will productionize and deploy these models, ensuring they are effective in real-world applications. You will lead the team in designing and analyzing experiments, using your data analysis skills to draw reasonable inferences. Reviewing code and designs of teammates will be part of your responsibilities, where you will provide constructive feedback to help improve the team's output. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you brainstorm new solutions and iterate on the product. Additionally, you will take on a mentorship role, guiding junior engineers in their professional development.
