Department Lead

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Department Lead to own one of Sisense’s core product domains. This is a senior leadership role (Senior Director level) responsible for driving the multi-year strategic direction and large-scale technical execution of a major, mission-critical product area.

You will lead a large engineering organization (20–50 engineers), managing multiple teams and group leads, and ensuring the seamless alignment of technology, product, and business objectives. As a member of the senior engineering leadership team, you will shape the future of our platform, influence cross-company initiatives, and help define the operational excellence that enables Sisense to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end accountability of a product domain, including its multi-year strategy, its complex technical architecture, and its definitive business alignment and ROI.
• Partner with Product Management and stakeholders to define long-term goals and drive roadmap execution.
• Shape the department’s technology vision and ensure architectural consistency across teams.
• Translate business goals and technical needs into a long-term product roadmap.
• Oversee the rigorous quarterly planning processes, driving the development and implementation cycle to ensure predictable and high-quality delivery.
• Ensure a strong focus on timely, high-quality delivery of capabilities to the production environment.
• Maintain accountability for the department's deliverables and the smooth, continuous operation and stable performance of production and customer environments.
• Ensure the team provides necessary support for customer issues and business needs to retain and improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead the department's people and work processes, including defining the optimal department structure, fostering employee development and retention, and leading new employee recruitment.
• Ensure high-quality performance across all team members and manage the Group Leads reporting to you.
• Participate in and lead cross-organizational processes that advance the organization and product.
• Maintain close coordination and collaboration with other Department Leads, the Head of Engineering, and relevant stakeholders, prioritizing the goals of the entire organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

• You are an accomplished executive-level leader with 10+ years in software engineering, including 6+ years in management roles; proven success as a Senior Director or VP-level leader in a global SaaS company.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale engineering organizations (~50 engineers), including managing managers (Group Leads).
• Strong background in designing and scaling complex SaaS platforms; familiarity with data, analytics, or platform infrastructure is a major advantage.
• Ability to define long-term technology strategy and translate it into actionable roadmaps.
• Proven ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability while managing resources effectively.
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership skills; thrives in an environment of transparency and shared ownership.
