Who you are

You are an entry-level technician eager to learn and grow in the field of data center operations. You have a keen interest in AWS infrastructure services and a desire to contribute to the decommissioning of legacy data center equipment. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and are committed to maintaining high standards for safety and security. You understand the importance of data protection and are detail-oriented, ensuring that all customer data is sanitized effectively.

Desirable

Experience or familiarity with data center operations or IT support is a plus, but not required. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies will help you succeed in this role. You may have a background in technical fields or have completed relevant coursework that has prepared you for this position.

What you'll do

As a Decommissioning Data Centre Technician, you will be responsible for processing and facilitating the liquidation of large-scale legacy data center equipment. This involves ensuring that targeted equipment is ready for removal from our facilities in Melbourne. You will collaborate with various teams across AWS to ensure that all processes are executed efficiently and safely. Your role will also include handling large volumes of media containing customer data, where you will ensure that all data is properly sanitized and protected before equipment is decommissioned.

You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, gaining insights into the complexities of AWS infrastructure. Your contributions will help maintain the integrity of customer data and support the overall operational efficiency of AWS data centers. You will be involved in various tasks that require attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that all equipment is handled responsibly.
