The Amazon Finance Automation Technology Team is looking for a seasoned Software Development leader to lead the Payables Data and Insights organization. This role will be responsible to define vision and strategy, and end-to-end ownership for engineering roadmap and products to effectively detect and prevent theft, abuse, fraud, and waste at Amazon, to securely manage Amazon's Payee data, and to build the data, insights for Finance Operations to make effective decisions.
In addition to strong technical depth, ability to be a step ahead in learning and adopting emerging technology trends, the role demands strong business acumen, communication, influencing, and ability to navigate in the highly complex, fast-paced matrix organization.
This is a senior people manager role, leading a large group of software development engineers, applied and data scientists, data engineers, and other technical individual contributors and managers spread across locations and geographies.

- Develop technology strategies to enable long-term strategic objectives and business goals.
- Participate in and Influence cross org technology decisions.
- Conduct business reviews with key customers and stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a complex distributed software development organization.
- Foster team culture inspired by Amazon's leadership principals.
- Hire, mentor, coach and develop the necessary skills in your organization.
- Own product operations, including maintenance, upgrades, modernization, and deprecation of software.
- Define software development processes, conduct reviews, and report progress.
About the team
Payables Tech’s mission is to automate Account Payables (AP) processes to pay Amazon vendors, payees, and employees accurately and on time, limiting human interactions only to monitor outcomes and exceptions, delighting them with the best experience possible.- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
