OpenAI is seeking a Partnerships Manager for their Hardware organization to lead strategy and vendor partnerships in the chip and system design ecosystem. This role requires experience in sourcing and contract negotiations.
You have a strong background in strategic sourcing and vendor management, particularly in the context of hardware and software tools. Your experience includes leading cross-functional teams and managing supplier relationships effectively. You are adept at contract negotiations and have a keen understanding of the semiconductor and AI industries. You thrive in collaborative environments and are skilled at building trusted partnerships with key suppliers. Your analytical skills enable you to optimize vendor selection and reduce costs while ensuring mission-critical capacity is secured on time.
Experience with ASIC design and EDA/IP licensing is a plus. Familiarity with AI workloads and supercomputing infrastructure will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable navigating complex organizational structures and can communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to driving program execution velocity are essential traits you possess.
In this role, you will be the single-threaded owner for EDA/IP, emulation, and chip supplier engagements, driving supplier selection and ongoing vendor management. You will lead strategy discussions to optimize vendor partnerships and ensure that the tools and systems used are aligned with OpenAI's ambitious hardware programs. Your work will directly impact the acceleration of program execution and the overall success of hardware initiatives. You will collaborate closely with engineering and research teams to understand their needs and translate them into actionable vendor strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for reducing duplicate licenses and unnecessary costs, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
