Pigment is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to develop their AI-powered business planning platform. You'll work with Java, Spring, and AWS to build scalable solutions. This position requires 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated complex distributed systems issues. Your deep expertise in Java and Spring means you've shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment where you can engage with both frontend and backend technologies, understanding the strengths and constraints of each. You value user-centricity and pragmatism, always choosing the most relevant tools for the problem at hand. You are driven by innovation and ready to make an impact at scale, and you thrive in a culture that celebrates bold ideas and challenges the status quo.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus, as is familiarity with performance management tools. You might also have a background in SaaS development, which would help you understand the unique challenges of building scalable applications in a fast-paced environment.
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Pigment, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our AI-powered business planning platform. You will participate in the entire application development lifecycle, focusing on design, coding, and ensuring the production platform runs smoothly. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features that enhance user experience and drive business value. You will also be tasked with optimizing existing systems for performance and scalability, ensuring that our platform can handle increasing loads as we grow. You will engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement within the team. Your contributions will directly impact how our clients, including industry leaders like Unilever and Siemens, make informed decisions and navigate complex scenarios.
At Pigment, we offer a competitive salary and equity options, along with comprehensive health insurance that covers you and your family. We believe in trust and flexibility, providing you with the freedom to work in a way that suits you best. Our offices are located in vibrant cities like London, Paris, New York, and Toronto, and we maintain a remote-friendly environment to accommodate diverse working preferences. Join us and be part of a team that is redefining business planning and making a significant impact in the SaaS industry.
