Job Description

Our team is a diverse and nimble group that manages Apple’s retail stores, workplaces, and workplace services. We develop and manage Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world. We have an opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to support our team in Munich.

Description

As a Facilities Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our Munich operations, responsible for the technical integrity and smooth functioning of our facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in managing technical lab infrastructure and the technical aspects of facilities, or equivalent experience demonstrating relevant expertise. A strong understanding of the German market, including familiarity with local regulations, vendors, and best practices. Proven experience leading external technical resources, ensuring technical requirements are met on time and within budget. Experience handling small-scale refurbishment and fit-out projects. Solid understanding of real estate and facility administration principles, including budgeting, contract management, and space planning. Fluency in both German and English (written and verbal) is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to stakeholders, negotiate with vendors, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience in maintaining critical infrastructure - operating 24/7 Proficiency in iOS/MacOS environment and MS Office suite. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive end-user experience. This includes proactively identifying and addressing employee needs and ensuring a comfortable and productive work environment. Proactively identifies and solves problems, and collaborates effectively within a team environment. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like mechanical, civil, or facility engineering.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day facility operations, proactively addressing technical issues (e.g., MEP systems, specifically DIN 276 KG300 (focus on fitout and doors ) and KG400 (technical installations) to ensure minimal disruption. Report on operations compliance and governance, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Support Facility Managers with unplanned requests and projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring timely completion. Liaise with internal business units and external service providers, building strong relationships to ensure efficient service delivery and effective collaboration. Manage Landlords' and Vendors' requests, ensuring timely responses and effective resolution of issues. Conduct Facilities contract reviews, as directed, to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements. Respond to inquiries regarding Places-related site services, providing prompt and helpful assistance to employees and visitors. Maintain Places tools, procedures, records, and policies, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient processes, including invoice processing. Identify and develop opportunities for continuous operations improvement, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Perform other functional duties as directed and required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team's success. Ensure all maintenance is completed according to the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, promptly resolving ad-hoc repairs. Lead value engineering initiatives for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, identifying and implementing cost-effective solutions. Work independently and thoroughly, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering high-quality results.
