School Counselor

Who you are

You are a dedicated professional with a passion for supporting students' social, emotional, and mental health needs. You have experience in counseling and are skilled at working with families to provide guidance and resources. You understand the importance of building a supportive education community and are committed to helping students with unique needs thrive.

You possess strong communication skills, allowing you to effectively advise teachers and school leadership on best practices for student wellbeing. You are proactive in coordinating with external agencies to ensure that students receive the necessary support and resources.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide social emotional and mental health counseling services to students, working with them one-on-one or in small groups to document interventions and track progress. You will set long-term programming visions for the school and community, leading the implementation of initiatives that support student wellbeing.

You will work closely with families, providing guidance on how they can support their students at home. This may include discussing student progress, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and achievement scores. You will also host events with parents and facilitate communication across the Starbase education community.

Additionally, you will advise teachers and the Head of School on programs and practices that promote mental wellbeing among students. Your role will involve coordinating with external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students and their families.
