Nuro is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to develop synthetic sensor simulation models and algorithms for their robotics team. You'll work with machine learning methods to generate synthetic sensor data. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of industry experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of industry experience in machine learning and robotics. You possess a deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals and have hands-on experience with methods such as NeRF or Gaussian splatting. Your expertise includes developing and implementing algorithms for generating synthetic sensor data, including photorealistic images and realistic lidar or radar outputs. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including autonomy, infrastructure, and systems teams, to address map needs and requirements. You thrive in an environment that fosters inclusion and psychological safety, and you are eager to contribute to a mission-driven company.
In this role, you will research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art synthetic sensor simulation methods. You will analyze and characterize the realism and utility of synthetic sensor data, answering critical questions about sensor data and autonomy performance. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that the synthetic data meets the needs of the autonomy systems. Your work will directly contribute to making autonomy accessible to all, as you help Nuro build the world’s most scalable driver technology.
