Netflix is seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to drive innovation in their managed compute services. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to enhance the scalability and reliability of Netflix's cloud infrastructure. This role requires extensive experience in distributed systems and cloud technologies.
You have a strong background in distributed systems engineering with at least 5 years of experience in building and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure. Your expertise in AWS and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes allows you to design systems that are both efficient and resilient. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, guiding engineering teams to achieve high performance and reliability in their services.
Your technical skills extend to proficiency in Docker and Linux, enabling you to manage complex deployments and troubleshoot issues effectively. You understand the intricacies of cloud computing and are passionate about optimizing resource usage while ensuring high availability. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in cloud technology.
You value diversity and inclusion in the workplace and believe that a collaborative team environment fosters innovation. You are eager to share your knowledge and mentor junior engineers, helping them grow in their careers while contributing to the team's success.
Experience with microservices architecture and API design is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. You may also have experience with monitoring and logging solutions that enhance system observability and performance.
In this role, you will lead initiatives to enhance Netflix's managed compute services, focusing on improving scalability and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that abstract away the complexity of cloud resources, allowing developers to focus on building applications. Your hands-on approach will involve coding, system architecture design, and performance optimization.
You will be responsible for driving the technical direction of projects, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the team is aligned with Netflix's goals. You will also engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
As a technical lead, you will mentor team members, helping them navigate challenges and develop their skills. You will participate in strategic discussions about the future of Netflix's cloud infrastructure, contributing your insights and expertise to shape the direction of the organization.
Netflix offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including flexible working arrangements that support a healthy work-life balance. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a team that is at the forefront of cloud innovation. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion for technology and willingness to learn are what matter most. Join us in shaping the future of entertainment services on a global scale.
