Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support the operation of AWS global infrastructure. You'll monitor and maintain critical systems to ensure reliability and availability. This role requires familiarity with AWS and technical troubleshooting skills.
You have a foundational understanding of data center operations and are eager to learn more about the infrastructure that powers AWS. You are detail-oriented and capable of performing daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards for safety and security. You are comfortable using Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) to assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events. You possess strong technical writing skills to support change management programs and are committed to maintaining 24/7 reliability and availability.
Experience with electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance is a plus, as is familiarity with technical documentation and change management processes. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues will help you succeed in this role.
In this role, you will perform daily monitoring of critical systems to ensure operational reliability. You will assist in troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA) and perform rack installations and decommissioning as needed. Your responsibilities will include conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. You will collaborate with various teams across AWS to deliver high standards of service and support. Your role will also involve documenting processes and changes to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
