Amazon Devices is looking for a dynamic, innovative and accomplished Applied Scientist to work on machine learning and data science initiatives to help customers discover Devices products and enabled stakeholders make informed product decisions. A day in the life
You will work with other scientists, engineers, product managers, and marketers to develop new products that benefit our customers and help us reach our business goals. You will own solutions from end to end: conceptualization, prioritization, development, delivery, and deploy in production.
About the team
We are a full stack science team that empowers product, marketing, and other business leaders to better understand customers who use Amazon devices, make decisions on product development or optimization, and measure the effectiveness of their efforts against our customer’s expectation. Our focus area is to build analytical frameworks that help the organization easily access data, better understand the decisions customers are making and why, and assess customer satisfaction.- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience in solving business problems through machine learning, data mining and statistical algorithms- Experience in professional software development
- Knowledge of architectural concepts and algorithms, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
