We are looking for a strategic, self-directed, and customer obsessed Senior Marketing Manager to lead the unified vision for high-impact marketing initiatives, promotions, and customer experience initiatives across Amazon Japan’s Amazon Fresh and Grocery Partnerships owned marketing channels.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an innovative and exciting business at Amazon. The Senior Marketing Manager will be owning long-term strategic projects for Amazon Fresh to support key business initiatives, including leading Go to Market (GTM) planning for Amazon Fresh Online and the marketing efforts for our Points loyalty program. It will also involve people management of a high-functioning, fast-moving team of four who are responsible for delivering on strategic goals with direct impact for our customers.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones. This role will include working cross functionally with partner teams including local marketing, Prime, and central teams. It will also include collaborating with five merchants currently in Japan (Life, Seijo, Arcs, Marukyo, Valor)
This role requires an individual with an understanding of e-commerce marketing, ideally in grocery or consumables. They will have launched high impact strategic programs, made data-driven decisions, and be an expert in influencing others. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically, with a passion for the customer experience and innovation. This individual will guide projects from successful briefing to completion, in collaboration with internal teams and merchants. In this role you must be a strong writer, and feel comfortable supporting at a strategic level - diving deep into implementation (including writing business/marketing requirements and providing long-term recommendations). Prior people management experience is required.

* Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project milestones and goals are met, optimizing Marketing programs across Grocery to effectively exceed expectations

The Grocery Marketing team builds and operates Grocery’s marketing strategy in Japan, with this role working across Amazon Fresh and Grocery Partnerships. This is a people manager role, which will lead the team working on demand generation, visual design, analytics, product management, customer insights, and CX to deliver growth in the business. We drive high quality traffic to our business and oversee the end to end customer funnel from awareness through conversion and long term loyalty.- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- 3+ years of team management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
- Strong verbal communication and business-level writing skills in English and Japanese- Experience with e-commerce
- Demonstrated ability to manage partner relationships, including experience developing and executing marketing programs with third-party partners
