MongoDB is seeking a Senior Manager for SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to ensure accurate SEC filings and provide technical accounting expertise. You'll work with GAAP and lead the accounting process for stock-based compensation. This role requires 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
You have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, and a Master’s is a plus. You are a CPA with 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public company SEC reporting and technical accounting, ideally with Big 4 experience. You possess deep technical accounting knowledge in SaaS or technology, particularly in areas such as business combinations, leases, impairments, derivatives, commissions, and share-based compensation.
You have a proven track record of drafting audit-ready technical accounting memos and conclusions under U.S. GAAP. You are skilled in developing and maintaining global accounting policies across business units, ensuring they scale with the business. You are adept at monitoring, evaluating, and implementing new accounting standards, and you thrive in a collaborative environment, partnering with Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Investor Relations to ensure accurate disclosures.
You have experience supporting external auditors and maintaining strong SOX/internal control compliance. You are also passionate about driving process improvements and automation initiatives, utilizing tools like Workiva and NetSuite. Mentoring and developing team members to build their technical accounting capabilities is something you find rewarding.
In this role, you will lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy, ensuring they are accurate and timely. You will provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions, such as business combinations and share-based compensation, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. You will draft audit-ready technical accounting memos and conclusions, which will be critical for the audit process.
You will develop and maintain global accounting policies that align with the company's growth and ensure they are effectively communicated across business units. Your role will involve owning the accounting process for stock-based compensation and equity, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
You will monitor and evaluate new accounting standards, implementing changes as necessary to keep the company compliant. Collaboration will be key as you partner with various departments, including Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Investor Relations, to ensure that all disclosures are accurate and meet regulatory requirements.
Supporting external auditors will be a significant part of your responsibilities, as will maintaining strong SOX/internal control compliance. You will also drive process improvements and automation initiatives, leveraging tools like Workiva and NetSuite to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.
As a mentor, you will develop team members, building their technical accounting capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. MongoDB offers a competitive salary range for this role in the U.S. of $95,000—$187,000 USD, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
