Overview

Skyryse is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on mechanisms to design and prototype electromechanical systems for aircraft. You'll work with AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop innovative flight control solutions. This role requires hands-on experience in mechanical design and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechanisms, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in designing and prototyping electromechanical systems. Your expertise includes using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed designs and specifications. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with test pilots, flight control engineers, and software engineers to ensure that your designs meet rigorous safety and performance standards.

You are hands-on and enjoy being involved in the full lifecycle of mechanical components, from initial concept through to testing and implementation. Your problem-solving skills allow you to tackle complex design challenges effectively, and you are comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You understand the importance of adhering to industry standards and regulations, particularly in the aerospace sector.

Desirable

Experience with flight control systems or aviation-related projects is a plus. Familiarity with certification processes for aircraft components will set you apart. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your design capabilities and improve product outcomes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing electromechanical actuators and control stick assemblies for various aircraft models. You will collaborate with a diverse team to define design criteria and develop solutions that enhance the safety and usability of flight controls. Your work will directly contribute to the development of Skyryse's innovative flight management systems, which aim to simplify and enhance the flying experience.

You will engage in hands-on testing of your designs, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. This includes working closely with test pilots to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to your designs. You will also be involved in the analysis of manufacturing processes to ensure that your designs can be produced efficiently and effectively.

As part of a rapidly expanding team, you will have the opportunity to influence the design direction of new aircraft models and contribute to the overall mission of making flying accessible and safe for everyone. You will participate in regular design reviews and brainstorming sessions, where your insights and creativity will be valued.

What we offer

Skyryse provides a dynamic work environment where innovation is at the forefront of our mission. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to transforming the aviation industry and making a meaningful impact on flight safety. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Join us in our mission to create a new era in flight, where technology and safety go hand in hand.
