Amazon.com is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Manager to join the Digital Acceleration team. The Digital Acceleration team owns services supporting the publishing, pricing and purchase of Digital content, including Kindle Books, Amazon AppStore, Amazon Music, Amazon Video, etc.
This candidate will be leading a team working on scalable web services using cloud technologies and offers opportunity to work on Gen-AI LLM technology. The work will be highly visible to Amazon customers and internal stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop the long-term strategy for your products and translate that into an achievable road map.
· Drive product vision and adoption by influencing clients and partners
· Lead a nimble team of software engineers to architect, develop, test and deploy high quality software solutions with persistent customer focus
· Manage departmental resources: hiring, mentoring, career management and maintaining a high performing team.
• Drive technical vision and architecture for Digital Pricing
• Make critical technical decisions balancing speed, quality, and operational excellence
• Partner with science teams to implement ML/AI strategies
• Lead design reviews and architecture discussions for complex distributed systems- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
