Staff Web Platform Engineer

Who you are

You have extensive experience as a Staff Frontend Engineer, ideally with over 5 years in the field, and a strong background in designing and developing scalable web applications. You are passionate about creating user-friendly interfaces and have a deep understanding of frontend technologies, particularly JavaScript and React. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality products. You are also excited about integrating AI technologies into your work, particularly LLM and agentic-powered solutions, to enhance the web platform's capabilities.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with modern development practices like CI/CD and agile methodologies. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code. You are also a strong communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and you enjoy mentoring junior engineers to help them grow in their careers.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and architecture of SoFi's web platform, focusing on building tools and libraries that enhance the performance and scalability of consumer-facing and internal applications. You will collaborate with various teams to define a strategic vision for the web platform, ensuring that it aligns with company-wide goals. Your responsibilities will include developing frontend patterns and documentation that promote consistency across products, as well as driving the adoption of best practices in frontend development.

You will also be responsible for evaluating and integrating new technologies into the web platform, particularly those related to AI and machine learning, to improve user experiences and operational efficiency. As a hands-on technical leader, you will participate in code reviews, provide feedback to team members, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team.
