Job Description

The Amazon Japan Consumer Innovation organization is looking for a strategic and business-savvy Sr. Product Manager - Tech with a proven track record of leading step-change innovations to optimize vendor and employee experiences in e-commerce. In this role, you will define joint expansion strategy and platform roadmap, influence WW to adopt JP-first innovation with thought leadership, negotiate for WW co-investment for the expansion, coordinate for complex product developments, implement WW product GTM, and lead VAMOS platform system requirements. You will collaborate with business and technical teams in Japan and worldwide.

To be successful in this role, you need a unique blend of strategic, technical, and operational skills in building and launching products. You deeply understand the customer needs. You have experience defining the strategic vision for major product features, establishing a roadmap, and successfully driving engineering teams to deliver that vision. You understand the architecture of the systems and technologies behind your products (e.g., data schema, workflows, APIs, runtime characteristics, design limitations, maintenance needs). You can influence leaders and stakeholders on technical priorities and strategy through data-driven proposals and communicate ideas effectively to diverse audiences including leadership. You have excellent judgment in prioritizing customer experience, business needs, and technical design to maximize impact.

Key job responsibilities
You will develop the product foundation strategy and vision for key features, outline the system and business requirements for a scalable solution, and oversee implementation, launch, and post-launch performance. You will work closely across business, tech and partner teams to get alignment and solve complicated problems. As a Sr. PMT, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy in an ambiguous, complex environment. You will spearhead multiple workstreams from ideation and customer engagement through development, implementation, launch, and scaling.- 5+ years of experience developing large-scale, complex, globally scalable e-commerce products from end-to-end. Deep understanding of software development life cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required, or equivalent experience successfully managing and launching highly technical products.
- Experience designing and building scalable e-commerce B2B products. Skilled at product strategy, roadmaps, and aligning Product, Science, and Engineering teams on priorities.
- Strong agile development experience working with Science and Engineering teams. Proven project and program management skills.
- Ability to technically design features considering performance, scalability, and future innovation opportunities for customers.
- Excellent at cross-functional stakeholder management and communication with senior and strategic partners.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong judgement, attention to detail, problem-solving, and data-driven analytical approach.- Experience of leading the development of Business Intelligence or Analytics products and applications.
- Experience of building and driving adoption of new tools.
- Possess a strong understanding of the business aspects of technology and operations, with an enthusiasm for metrics and analysis to achieve business goals.
- Background in B2B e-commerce sector, including vendor, seller, and account management systems and automation.
- Skilled in writing efficient database queries in a large-scale business setting.
- History of working with and persuasively influencing remote global product, program, and technical teams.
- MBA Degree
