You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly with Go, and have a strong understanding of building scalable production systems. Your expertise in Go allows you to contribute effectively to the development of modular software solutions that meet the needs of small and medium enterprises.
You are familiar with microservices architecture and understand the importance of composability in software design. You have experience working in teams that prioritize speed and autonomy, and you are comfortable navigating the complexities of compliance in the payroll domain. Your collaborative spirit helps you work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that the software you build is not only functional but also user-friendly.

You are passionate about creating solutions that genuinely help users save time and money, and you are excited about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience with payroll systems or financial software would be a plus, as would familiarity with UK payroll compliance. You might also have experience with other programming languages or frameworks that complement your Go skills, enhancing your ability to contribute to a diverse tech stack.

You will work closely with the Payroll team to tackle the complexities of UK payroll compliance while ensuring that the software scales effectively to meet the needs of Tide's growing user base. Your role will involve designing and implementing features that enhance the user experience and streamline payroll processes for SMEs.
You will contribute to the architecture of a modular Go monolith that integrates seamlessly with Tide's microservices ecosystem. This will involve collaborating with other engineers to ensure that the software components are well-designed and can evolve into standalone services as needed. You will also participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement within the team.
Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Tide's payroll solutions, helping to drive user acquisition and retention. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking ways to improve the software and the development process.
