You have extensive experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong technical background in Microsoft SQL and Power BI. Your interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively partner with internal customers to understand their challenges and anticipate future needs. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong desire to learn and solve complex problems. Your ingenuity and self-motivation are key to excelling in this position, and you are comfortable working with Windows and server/storage infrastructure.

You are adept at performing root cause analysis of production-related database issues, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize schemas, queries, and database/server configurations. Your experience includes data migration and transformation from OLTP to OLAP systems, and you are skilled in developing code to automate routine tasks using PowerShell or similar scripting languages. You are flexible and can adapt to the evolving needs of the organization, ensuring that database technologies are aligned with SpaceX's mission.

Desirable

Experience with cloud-based database solutions or familiarity with other database technologies would be a plus. You are also encouraged to bring any additional skills that could enhance the database team's capabilities.

What you'll do

As a Senior Database Administrator at SpaceX, you will be responsible for managing all database technologies used throughout the organization. You will partner with internal customers to understand their current challenges and plan improvements, ensuring that database systems are optimized for performance and reliability. Your role will involve performing root cause analysis of production-related database issues, allowing you to identify and resolve problems efficiently.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize database schemas, queries, and configurations, ensuring that the database environment supports the needs of various teams. Additionally, you will perform data migration and transformation tasks, moving data from OLTP to OLAP systems as required. Your expertise in PowerShell or similar scripting languages will be utilized to develop automation scripts that streamline routine tasks and provide self-service tools for end users.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting database issues, working closely with other IT Engineering team members to ensure that all database technologies are functioning optimally. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of SpaceX's operations, supporting the company's ambitious goals.
