Overview

Amazon is seeking a WHS Specialist to coordinate and implement health and safety programs in their Brampton facility. You'll promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with corporate standards. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Who you are

You are a proactive individual with a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Your experience in coordinating safety programs and conducting training sessions makes you an ideal candidate for the WHS Specialist role at Amazon. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe work environment and are dedicated to promoting healthy behaviors among employees. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively coach associates on observed work habits and ensure compliance with safety standards. You are detail-oriented, capable of maintaining accurate metrics and reporting them to management. Your ability to conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures demonstrates your understanding of workplace safety protocols.

Desirable

Experience in a similar role within a corporate environment is a plus. Familiarity with federal and state safety regulations will enhance your ability to support management in compliance efforts. A background in ergonomics or risk assessment methodologies will be beneficial in this position.

What you'll do

As a WHS Specialist at Amazon, you will serve as a designated representative for your assigned building, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Global Program as directed by leadership. You will promote a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with Amazon standards. Your responsibilities will include conducting training sessions for associates, coaching them on safe work habits, and maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams. You will support management's efforts to ensure compliance with corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws. Additionally, you will conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions, recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management. Your role will require you to be flexible with your schedule, as you may need to work any shift based on availability.
