Overview

Relativity is seeking a Staff Engine Systems Development Engineer to contribute to the development of the Terran R rocket. You'll be involved in the entire lifecycle of engine systems, from design to production. This role requires significant experience in engineering and a passion for innovation.

You have extensive experience in engineering, particularly in systems development, and are eager to tackle complex challenges in the aerospace industry. Your background includes a strong understanding of propulsion systems and their lifecycle, from initial design through to production and qualification. You thrive in collaborative environments where your technical expertise can drive innovation and efficiency. You are comfortable with autonomy and ownership, taking initiative to solve problems that have not been addressed before. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams will help you shape decisions and contribute to the overall success of the project. You are passionate about advancing science and exploration through your work and are excited about the opportunity to leave a mark on the product and culture at Relativity Space.

Desirable

Experience with rocket propulsion systems or aerospace engineering is a plus. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality assurance in engineering will enhance your contributions to the team. A background in project management or leadership roles can also be beneficial as you collaborate with various teams to achieve project goals.

What you'll do

As a Staff Engine Systems Development Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of engine systems for the Terran R rocket. This includes overseeing the entire lifecycle of engine components, ensuring they meet performance and manufacturability standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including propulsion, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive the design and production processes. Your role will involve problem-solving at every stage, from initial concept through to flight qualification.
