Job Description

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

Waymo Operations exists to deliver the Waymo Driver to the world. We are a global team building and scaling the world's first and leading autonomous fleet and operations platform. From component sourcing to end customer management, we enable and create value for Waymo through scaled and orchestrated deployment of the Waymo Driver. At Waymo, we are dedicated to building a culture that promotes collaboration and celebration. We value our team members' unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences and support and encourage all team members to share their ideas to help Waymo better serve the communities in which we operate.

In this remote role, you will report to our Planning & Team Operations Lead

You will:

  • Act as the primary technical owner and subject-matter specialist for Waymo's Anaplan platform, managing our Test, Dev, Prod, and Data Hub environments
  • Partner with stakeholders across Operations (Infrastructure, Commercial, Vehicle, and Testing) to design, build, and deploy new planning solutions directly within Anaplan
  • Drive the enhancement and maintenance of existing Anaplan models to support market expansion and evolving business needs
  • Manage and optimize data flows between Anaplan and our internal data warehouse (PLX) to ensure data integrity for internal reporting
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt, improve model performance, and build dynamic, reusable solutions
  • Drive outcomes for key business projects as our Anaplan specialist, building new processes and methods to anticipate future needs

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as an Anaplan Model Builder or Anaplan Solution Architect
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining complex, large-scale Anaplan models from scratch
  • Strong understanding of Anaplan's architecture, including data integration (e.g., CloudWorks, Anaplan Connect), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and security best practices
  • Experience translating complex business requirements and multi-dimensional planning scenarios into efficient and scalable Anaplan solutions
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with data warehouses

We prefer:

  • Anaplan Certified Master Anaplanner or Certified Solution Architect
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-growth tech, operations, or manufacturing environment
  • Deep experience in Operations Planning, Supply Chain Planning, or complex FP&A modeling
  • Familiarity with Google's data stack (e.g., PLX, BigQuery) and data visualization tools (like Tableau, Looker Studio)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners
