Amazon Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS) plays a key role in the company’s mission to be Earth’s most customer-centric company. FGBS includes finance functions like Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Tax, as well as other functions like Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF), Investor Relations, and Benchmarking.
The FGBS Team is looking for a Compliance Analyst to join Accounts Payable Compliance operation in Costa Rica. The successful candidate will perform compliance activities for the operations for LATAM. Primary responsibilities encompass conducting inspections and data analysis of tax requirements, ensuring adherence to process and statutory policies and controls, and performing meticulous audits of fiscal documents. The role demands a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of controllership while simultaneously a deep sense of Customer Obsession.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire in strong analytical skills and root cause analysis in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and feel comfortable handling math data. We expect the Compliance Analyst to be an outside the box thinker, who looks for ways to improve our processes.
Key job responsibilities
·Prepare low audit packages for Fiscal Audits
·Provide a qualitative and quantitative evaluation based on empirical data findings.
·Partnering with taxes, operation, and compliance teams
·Work closely with finance operations teams in different locations for timely transaction processing
·Keep a check on processes and regulations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
·Monitor tax legislation changes and align internal systems accordingly
·Support Fiscal audit delivery requirements

- Minimum of 1 year of shared service operations experience
- Intermediate English speaker
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team
- Data analysis & communication
- Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel or similar desktop applications. - Experienced in case(ticket) handling/ resolution.
- Bachelors with experience in Finance Operations/Shared Services, Accounts Payable or Account Receivable (Collections) or General Ledger.
- Tax treatment understanding for LATAM markets.
- Expertise in using Oracle Financial Applications.
