AlphaGrep is seeking a Quantitative Research Intern to develop data ETL pipelines and support machine learning algorithms for trading. You'll work with Python, Cython, and SQL databases in Singapore.
You are an enthusiastic individual eager to dive into the world of quantitative research and trading. With a strong foundation in Python and Cython, you are ready to tackle the challenges of building data ETL pipelines that clean and process raw data. Your proficiency in machine learning, particularly with deep learning architectures, sets you apart as a candidate who can contribute meaningfully to our trading algorithms. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are excited about the opportunity to build products from the ground up.
Your experience with SQL-like databases, such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, gives you the ability to manage and manipulate data effectively. You understand the importance of writing clean, well-documented code and are committed to maintaining high coding standards. As you take on responsibilities, you are prepared to assist in troubleshooting and debugging production issues, ensuring that our systems run smoothly.
You are also open to mentoring future junior team members as our team scales, demonstrating your leadership potential and commitment to fostering a collaborative environment. Your knowledge of financial markets and instruments, while not mandatory, is a plus that will enhance your contributions to our team.
While not required, familiarity with performance-sensitive environments and experience with Cython will be beneficial in this role. A basic understanding of financial markets will also help you integrate more seamlessly into our team dynamics.
In this role, you will create robust data ETL pipelines that are essential for cleaning and processing raw data. Your work will directly impact the features consumed in our machine learning trading pipeline, allowing you to see the results of your efforts in real-time. You will write clean, well-documented code with appropriate test coverage, ensuring that our systems are reliable and maintainable.
You will assist in troubleshooting and debugging production issues, taking on a rotating on-call responsibility to ensure that our trading platform operates without interruption. As you help establish engineering best practices and coding standards, you will contribute to a culture of excellence within the team.
Your responsibilities will also include taking ownership of smaller projects and features from design to deployment, allowing you to develop your project management skills and gain valuable experience in the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with other team members, sharing insights and learning from their expertise as you grow in your role.
At AlphaGrep, you will be part of a team that values innovation and excellence. We provide a supportive environment where you can develop your skills and grow your career in quantitative research and trading. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to a best-in-class mid-frequency trading platform. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of our team members to grow and succeed together.
