Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Device Laboratory Operations Manager to join our growing team. The Shipyard as it’s called, is a laboratory space used by multiple teams across Amazon to perform proof of concept testing to ensure the desired outcome is achievable before investing larger time and money to deploy solutions into production environments. As the Device Laboratory Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Shipyard laboratory, ensuring smooth execution of customer testing processes and timely completion of projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by coordinating with various stakeholders, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the laboratory is equipped to meet testing requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, technical aptitude and curiosity, and a customer-centric mindset.

Key job responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Shipyard laboratory, including scheduling and resource allocation.
* Own internal security for the space and program, implementing security SOPs and ensuring that they are complied with. Manage visitors and tours, operating the reception space as needed.
* Ensure the Shipyard laboratory is equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and testing environments to meet customer needs. Order and receive equipment as needed.
* Maintain a high standard of lab cleanliness and organization for the lab, ensure that assets and samples are inventoried and tracked.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and product development, to provide technical resources and address customer inquiries or issues. Build and maintain outreach and connection programs with partner teams to enhance the capabilities of the lab. Provide and conduct tours and other visitor management duties.
* Implement and improve Shipyard laboratory processes and documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging testing methodologies to drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations.
* Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and professionalism within the laboratory environment.- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
