Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime for AWS data centers.
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring that technology runs smoothly and efficiently. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills make you a valuable asset in maintaining high uptime standards. You are eager to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment, collaborating with engineers and specialists to support AWS infrastructure.
Experience with data center operations or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with diesel generators, UPS systems, and three-phase electrical systems will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable working with various mechanical systems, including cooling towers and pumps, and have a basic understanding of AWS services.
As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity of our data centers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems function optimally. Your work will directly contribute to achieving our goal of 99.999% uptime, which is essential for delivering reliable services to our customers.
You will perform routine maintenance on standby diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are ready for operation when needed. You will also work with three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, to maintain power distribution throughout the facility. Your role will involve monitoring and adjusting cooling systems, such as CRAC units and centrifugal chillers, to maintain optimal operating conditions.
Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and specialists. You will participate in troubleshooting efforts, sharing insights and solutions to complex problems that arise in the data center environment. Your contributions will help ensure that our infrastructure remains robust and capable of supporting the demands of our global customers.
