Job Description

We are seeking a Senior leader of business development to lead one of our key commercial segments in Europe. This is a senior leadership role responsible for customer acquisition, business development, and revenue growth. The role owns the P&L for the segment, driving strategic initiatives to expand market share, improve customer engagement, and maximize profitability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Operations, to accelerate growth and build a scalable, high-performing business. Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and scale the segment’s commercial organization. Manage and develop a team of leaders responsible for acquisition, growth, and expansion.
• Own P&L accountability. Drive revenue, profitability, and cost management to optimize financial performance.
• Develop and execute the business growth strategy. Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to scale the segment.
• Drive customer acquisition and business development. Expand market presence through strategic partnerships and targeted growth initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Operations to align commercial strategies with business goals.

A day in the life
Your morning begins with a deep dive into performance metrics, assessing revenue trends and acquisition success. You then lead a leadership team meeting to align on priorities and discuss opportunities for segment expansion. Midday, you join a strategy session with Marketing and Product to refine customer targeting and positioning. In the afternoon, you meet with key partners to explore growth opportunities and negotiate strategic agreements. Before wrapping up, you review the segment’s P&L, preparing recommendations to optimize profitability and drive long-term success.


About the team
Amazon Freight (AF) is a B2B start-up within Scaling Business Organization in Europe.
Amazon Freight allows external businesses ("shippers") to use Amazon’s transportation technology and network to transport products in bulk across Europe. This is an innovative technology-driven solution for the logistics needs of small and large businesses and is scaling rapidly as an offering.
The role sits within AF Commercial organization and partners with product and operations teams to deliver the commercial KPIs.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience building and leading large teams and have worked in matrixed operating structures
- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
- Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent- Experience managing and developing high performance teams
