You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on financial markets, particularly in US cash equities and ETFs. Your experience includes designing and developing low-latency trading systems, and you understand the complexities of market data feeds and order execution. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and C++, and you have a solid grasp of REST APIs and system architecture. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to large technical projects that drive business success.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can work under pressure, ensuring that systems perform reliably with minimal error tolerance. Your analytical mindset allows you to refine and analyze large datasets, and you are comfortable working with terabytes of data generated by market activities. You are also familiar with user interface design principles, ensuring that complex systems are presented in an intuitive manner.
Experience with financial modeling and trading strategies is a plus, as is familiarity with market-making practices. You may also have exposure to simulation and research systems that support trading initiatives. A passion for technology and finance drives your work, and you are always looking for ways to innovate and improve existing systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the trading infrastructure that supports Optiver's cash equities operations. You will design, develop, and maintain critical components of the order management and execution management systems, ensuring they meet the high-performance standards required in the trading environment. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of trading operations, allowing for rapid response to market changes.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish the technical direction for major trading initiatives, leveraging your expertise to guide the development of new features and improvements. Your work will involve integrating market data feeds from major US exchanges, ensuring that the systems can process this information in microseconds or less.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development of pricing, research, and trading models that underpin Optiver's market-making strategies. This will require a deep understanding of both the technology and the financial principles that drive trading decisions. You will also be involved in refining user interfaces to provide real-time visualizations of market activity, ensuring that traders have the tools they need to make informed decisions.
