Databricks is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join their External Reporting and Technical Accounting team. You'll play a critical role in the full-cycle close process, including drafting financial statements and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires experience in technical accounting and knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
You are an experienced Technical Accounting Manager with a strong background in external reporting and technical accounting. You have a deep understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, and you stay current with changes in accounting standards. You excel in drafting technical accounting position memoranda and managing the preparation of financial statements. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Accounting Operations, Legal, and Tax. You have experience in M&A activities, providing technical accounting support during due diligence and post-merger integration phases. You are detail-oriented and have a proven track record of developing and maintaining internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Experience with stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718 is a plus. Familiarity with external audit processes and managing relationships with auditors will enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are proactive in tracking the adoption of significant accounting standards and implementing necessary changes.
In this role, you will oversee the full-cycle close process, ensuring that all financial statements are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. You will draft technical accounting position memos around accounting policies and transactions, providing clarity and guidance to stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with external auditors to facilitate smooth quarterly reporting processes. You will play a key role in M&A activities by reviewing agreements, preparing purchase price allocation analyses, and managing external valuation consultants. You will also provide training and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
