Overview

DigiCert is seeking a PKI System Engineer to manage and maintain their global PKI Management systems. You'll work with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and key management technologies. This role requires expertise in security protocols and system architecture.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a highly motivated Information Systems Engineer with specialist skills in Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), PKI, and Key Management. You have a strong ability to work effectively with both people and technology, ensuring that systems are secure and reliable. Your attention to detail and security mindset are critical in your role, as you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of DigiCert’s systems. You are comfortable working in an agile environment and have experience with risk management and compliance audits.

You have a solid understanding of various security protocols and technologies, including OpenSSL and Thales / Gemalto / Luna SA7. Your background includes hands-on experience with certificate key management and system performance analysis. You are familiar with integrating third-party applications and have a proactive approach to incident response and system failures. You enjoy collaborating with team members and providing recommendations and documentation to support your colleagues.

Desirable

While not required, experience with EJBCA, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, NTP, Syslog, SSH, Nginx, Salt, Git, Python, Splunk, Active Directory, and CentOS would be advantageous. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, and you are open to cross-training opportunities within the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will install and configure various HSMs and associated systems, ensuring they operate at peak performance. You will participate in risk management and business continuity management, contributing to policy reviews and compliance audits. Your responsibilities will include managing certificate key operations and maintaining the overall integrity of DigiCert’s global PKI Management systems. You will conduct continual system performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure that systems can handle current and future demands.

You will integrate third-party applications as needed and provide regular status updates on your projects and tasks. In the event of system failures, you will respond to incidents and participate in an on-call rotation to resolve issues promptly. Your role will also involve providing recommendations and support to team members, helping to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable environment.

You will contribute to the evaluation, design, analysis, installation, and maintenance of PKI system architecture, identifying ways to improve system performance and security. Your work will be crucial in helping DigiCert maintain its position as a leading global security authority.

What we offer

DigiCert offers generous time off policies and top-shelf benefits, including education, wellness, and lifestyle support. You will be part of a team that values collaboration and innovation, working in an environment that encourages professional growth and development. We believe in empowering our employees to take ownership of their work and contribute to the success of the company. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
