Overview

Apple is hiring a Quality Engineer for their Health Software team to ensure the quality and performance of health-related microservices. You'll work with Java and Scala to develop automated test frameworks and collaborate with various teams. This role requires 4+ years of experience in test automation development.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 4+ years of experience in test automation development, including the creation and management of test frameworks from scratch. Your expertise in writing code in Java and Scala allows you to effectively test APIs, SDKs, or frameworks. You are skilled in developing various forms of software tests, including unit, functional, performance, and stress tests. Your experience includes writing and automating test cases that interact with both SQL and NoSQL databases. You possess a solid understanding of microservices design principles, service orchestration, and inter-service communication, utilizing technologies such as REST, gRPC, and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ. You hold a BS in Computer Science or a relevant field and have excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to work well with engineers and other teams.

Desirable

Familiarity with wellness or medical concepts is a plus, as is knowledge of graph databases or ontologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to integrate quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.

What you'll do

As a Quality Engineer on the Health Software team, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and validation systems for complex health software used by millions of Apple customers. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and clinical teams to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of the microservices that empower users to manage and learn about their health. Your role will involve integrating quality into every stage of the development lifecycle, ensuring that the software meets the highest standards before it reaches users. You will be responsible for developing automation tools and applications that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Your contributions will directly impact the future features of Apple Health, supporting Clinical Health Records and improving user experiences.
