Apple is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and construction administration for large-scale data center projects. This role requires 5+ years of experience in mechanical cooling systems and a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
You have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in the design, construction, and operations of large mechanical cooling systems. Your expertise allows you to bring reliable, efficient, flexible, cost-effective, and sustainable data center mechanical designs and systems to life. You are comfortable traveling as needed for project requirements and have a strong understanding of critical facilities.
You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to delivering excellence in your work. Your ability to adapt to fast-moving situations and work effectively within a team is essential for success in this role. You are a domain expert who can lead design and construction administration as Apple’s Owners Representative for the Mechanical Engineer team.
Having 8+ years of experience in the field would be a plus, as would any additional certifications or training relevant to mechanical engineering in data center operations. Your background in critical facilities will set you apart as a candidate who can contribute significantly to the team.
In this role, you will lead the design and construction administration for large-scale data center projects, ensuring that all mechanical systems are designed to meet Apple's high standards for efficiency and sustainability. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, while also meeting all operational requirements.
You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems and ensuring that they operate effectively within the data center environment. This includes working closely with construction teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed according to plan.
Your role will also involve conducting regular assessments of existing mechanical systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization. You will be expected to stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to ensure that Apple remains at the forefront of data center technology.
