Who you are

You have significant experience in backend engineering, particularly with databases and observability tools — you've designed and implemented scalable systems that handle large volumes of data efficiently. Your expertise in technologies like Grafana and Prometheus allows you to contribute effectively to the development of innovative observability solutions.

You are proficient in working with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes — you understand how to deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Your background in PostgreSQL or similar databases equips you with the skills to optimize data storage and retrieval processes.

You thrive in a remote-first environment and are comfortable collaborating with distributed teams — you communicate effectively and can navigate the challenges of remote work while maintaining productivity and team cohesion. Desirable

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Loki Ingest databases, ensuring they meet the needs of Grafana's diverse user base — you will work closely with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features that enhance user experience. Your role will involve designing APIs and data models that facilitate seamless integration with other components of the Grafana ecosystem.

You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the codebase — your insights will help improve coding standards and best practices within the team. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to database performance and reliability, ensuring that Grafana's observability platform remains robust and efficient.
