Uber is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable internal systems for its employees. You'll work with Go and collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to enhance Uber's corporate efficiency. This role requires strong coding and architecture skills.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, building production systems that are both reliable and scalable. You thrive in a disciplined agile development environment and enjoy solving diverse technical challenges. Your strong coding and debugging abilities are complemented by your advanced knowledge of at least one programming language, with a focus on GoLang for backend development. You possess architecture skills, understanding data structures and algorithms, and can discuss the trade-offs between architectural choices on both theoretical and applied levels. You are a fast learner, eager to adapt and grow in your technical expertise.
Experience with cloud services and modern web applications is a plus. Familiarity with building products and services that enhance employee experience will set you apart. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, engaging with data scientists, designers, and product managers to drive projects to successful completion.
In this role, you will work closely with a highly capable team to build innovative products and platforms that serve Uber's internal needs. You will be responsible for developing backend systems that are highly available and scalable, ensuring they meet the demands of Uber's global business groups. You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and will be involved in integrating cloud services into the products you build. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and happiness of Uber's employees, making your work essential to the company's success.
You will also participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers while continuously improving your own coding practices. As part of the People Tech Team, you will help create a powerful business advantage through technology, enhancing the corporate speed and reliability of Uber's internal operations. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying them to your work to drive innovation within the team.
